DILUTE (Silver, Charcoal, Champagne) “Labradors” are NOT purebred. The Labrador Retriever breed does not carry the dilute gene “dd” that appears universally in the Weimaraner and is responsible for their silver color. Dilute dogs have a host of health issues including but not limited to color dilution skin alopecia, hyperthyroidism, temperament issues, and structural faults. All of our dogs are tested to be 100% clear of the dilute gene. Please read the following infographics for more information. Reputable Labrador Retriever breeders will NEVER breed dilute dogs.
