All puppies are placed with Limited AKC Registration unless prior arrangements are made with a trusted fellow breeder. They go home with a health check from our veterinarian who specializes in the reproduction of Labrador Retrievers and a small bag of puppy food. Puppies will have been given all age-appropriate vaccinations and de-worming treatments before leaving our care, as well as an AKC Reunite Microchip.
We raise our litters underfoot in our home where they are extensively socialized from birth with practices implemented from AviDog and Puppy Culture programs. All of our puppies are raised indoors in our custom whelping room where all of our family members, including our young children, spend time with them throughout the day and night. After about 5 weeks of age they spend time outside in their interactive puppy playpen where they learn all about the outdoors and experience our chickens, sheep and horses. All puppies are weaned onto an approved dry puppy diet before leaving with their new families. It is important to note that we ultimately decide which family each puppy will be placed with. We do take your needs and preferences into consideration so all matches will be “happily ever after”.
After careful consideration of the current times we live in, we have halted puppy visits until the day they are ready to go home. We feel this is safest for all parties involved and it also supports our strict biosecurity measures. You are welcome to join our private Facebook group where you can “meet” other Atlas Families and get to know their dogs. We regularly post on Instagram (@the_atlas_labs) and are happy to send quality photographs and videos via text regularly.
A quality dog is not inexpensive. Please keep this is mind when inquiring. The peace of mind you receive regarding the long term health of your puppy when purchasing from a reputable breeder is priceless. Purchasing from a reputable breeder also means that we are always here for you and your dog.
